The Sedition law was originally drafted by Thomas Macaulay but it was not a part of IPC in the 1860s and was even dropped from the law. It was introduced as Section 124-A in the IPC in the year 1870. According to the section 124-A of the Indian Penal Code ‗whoever attempts to excite feelings of disaffection to the Government established by law in British India‘ was to be punished with transportation for life or for any term or with imprisonment up to three years.
Dual government or the double government: The Nawab depended for the internal and external security on the British. As the Diwan, the company directly collected its revenues while through the right to nominate the deputy subahdar, it controlled the nizamat or the police and the judicial powers of the Nizam. This arrangement in history is known as Dual or double government
